Investigating Effect of Autocorrelation on Monitoring Multivariate Linear Profiles
Authors
Abstract:
Abstract Profile monitoring in statistical quality control has attracted attention of many researchers recently. A profile is a function between response variables and one or more independent variables. There have been only a limited number of researches on monitoring multivariate profiles. Indeed, monitoring correlated multivariate profiles is a new subject in the fileld of statistical process control. In this paper, we investigate the effect of autocorrlation in monitoring multivariate linear profiles in phase II. The effect of three main models namely AR(1), MA(1), and ARMA(1,1) on the methods of multivariate linear profile monitoring is evaluated and compared by using simulation study and average run length criteria. Results indicate that autocorrelation affects performance of the existing methods significantly.

In some applications of statistical process monitoring, a quality characteristic can be characterized by linear regression relationships between several response variables and one explanatory variable, which is referred to as a “multivariate simple linear profile.” It is usually assumed that the process parameters are known in Phase II. However, in most applications, this assumption is viola...

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...
Phase II monitoring of multivariate simple linear profiles
In some quality control applications, quality of a product or process can be characterized by a relationship between two or more variables that is typically referred to as profile. Moreover, in some situations, there are several correlated quality characteristics, which can be modeled as a set of linear functions of one explanatory variable. We refer to this as multivariate simple linear profil...
full textMultivariate adaptive approach for monitoring simple linear profiles
Adaptive sample size and sampling intervals schemes have been widely used to improve the statistical efficiency of Hotelling T control chart in detecting small changes when the quality of a product or a process can be characterised by the multivariate distribution of quality characteristics. In this paper, we design a Hotelling T scheme varying sample sizes and sampling intervals (VSSI-T) for a...
